#108 – When Work and Play Collide

Love what you do, and do what you love.

This is a line we hear often, and it really does make a big difference in attitude when it comes to just about anything in life. While it is not always possible to find employment in a field you are passionate about out in the real world, because bills gotta get paid and you do what you gotta do, it does when it comes to the jobs you take on in SL.

Live music is not only something I love, it is also where the majority of my time and energy are spent when I am not taking cute pictures and blogging them here.

Music Speaks Management was formed in November 2018 to provide the professional management and promotional services to live music performers in Second Life.

Troy Nelson, Elsbeth Pruitt and I had all been involved with Whispering Sands Live prior to its closing, and decided to undertake likely the largest project that any of us had never imagined that we would ever do. What started out with the intention of taking on maybe 3 or 4 artists, turned into 8, then 10, then 12 and currently we boast a roster of 13 of some of the most amazing talent in SL.

You can find out more about all of our amazing talent on the MSM Website , keep up to date with shows on Facebook or join the daily subscriber at the main office to get a single note card per day of all of our daily shows.

I also encourage you to check out a huge variety of other performers in SL as well because there is some outstanding talent out there that we don’t manage too, that I personally love and go see and hear frequently, and am quite blessed to be able to call friends as well.

I can often be found at shows, even when I am not “working” and enjoying a show together is something that Phillip will often ask me if I would like to do, because live music is a part of my life, just as much as he is. Even when there are days that I am in IMS talking to Troy or venue owners more than I am to him, he understands that work is work. I also make sure to balance that out to be sure that personal time is still given the attention that it deserves, for him and for myself. That’s what good balanced relationships do.

So when he asked me today if I wanted to go hear Agatha at Sapphire Beach, I was more than happy to go get our grind on while enjoying work, with my pleasure.

Life sure is wonderful, when work and play collide 🙂
